Hello everyone,

We are happy to share our upcoming Heritage BC webinar, St. Andrew’s on the
Square Renovation Project 2024 – 2026
<https://heritagebc.ca/events-activities/webinars/>, which will take place
on September 21st and it will be free to attend.

Join us to learn how the City of Kamloops restored one of the community's
most treasured heritage landmarks, and to hear about the approach to
conservation and the work involved in bringing this historic place back to
life.

Built in 1887, St. Andrew’s on the Square is the oldest public building in
Kamloops, and a cherished gathering place for the Kamloops community. After
sustaining significant fire, smoke, and water damage in May 2024, the
building underwent a $1.1 million restoration to return it to its pre-fire
condition while enhancing accessibility, functionality, and heritage
features.

In this webinar, you’ll hear how the City of Kamloops worked closely with
heritage groups, who had restored St. Andrew’s 30 years prior, and
Reimagine Architects to develop and execute a compressive restoration plan.
Through thoughtful collaboration and inspired design, the project not only
improved accessibility and functionality of the building, but it also
enhanced the building’s heritage character. Discover how this restoration
has ensured that St. Andrew’s will continue to be a valued and loved
community gathering space for years to come.
