The TRAX Project of the Ecology Action Centre is seeking
an organized and outgoing individual to:

* Coordinate a workplace Trip Reduction Program;
* Coordinate street opening/reclaiming events and
* Contribute generally to the TRAX Project and the
Ecology Action Centre.

This position requires an individual who is able to work
effectively and confidently with a range of stakeholders,
including government, community partners, general public,
youth, and business.

Desired Skills and Experience:

* Strong interest in promoting sustainable, including active,
transportation
* Knowledge of environmental, health and economic
benefits of sustainable transportation
* Familiarity with workplace Trip Reduction Programs
* Familiarity with street reclaiming
* Strong communication skills
* Strong organizational and administrative skills
* Experience in public education and advocacy
* Experience in event organization and promotion,
including public outreach and marketing
* Experience managing volunteers
* Experience with fundraising
* Computer literacy in MS Office, including Word, Excel,
FrontPage
* Experience with working in an NGO environment, and a
* Persistent, diplomatic, optimistic approach

Duration: Monday January 16, 2006 -- Friday April 21, 2006

Wage: $15.00/hour

The position is part-time (25 hours/week).

Location: Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada

About Us:

TRAX, the EAC's sustainable transportation project, was
established in 1999. TRAX's main goal is to decrease the
number of Single Occupancy Vehicle trips and related
GHG emissions and air pollutants in Nova Scotia, and to
promote the health and environmental benefits of using
sustainable transportation. TRAX has been involved with a
variety of successful projects, including: Workplace Trip
Reduction Programs, the Saint Mary's University U-PASS,
Metro Transit's Bus Rapid Transit Showcase (MetroLink),
and the Canadian Commuter Challenge.

The Ecology Action Centre was founded in 1971 and is one
of Canada's Oldest and most effective environmental
organizations. The Centre focuses on issues of concern to
Nova Scotians' and welcomes new members and
