Nova Scotia Greens Looking for Magnificient Seven
Region: Province-Wide May 28, 2006
HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA - The Green Party of Nova Scotia is on the verge of
running a full slate of candidates in the June 13, 2006 provincial
general election. With less than two days to go before Elections Nova
Scotia's filing deadline, the Greens have 45 candidates in Nova Scotia's
52 electoral districts.

That 45 Nova Scotians have flocked to the Green Party banner in little
more than a 15-day period illustrates a tremendous desire on the part of
citizens to have a meaningful voice.

Leader Nick Wright is excited about the prospect of offering all Nova
Scotian voters a Green democratic option so quickly after the initial
formation and official recognition of the party. "The momentum that we
have seen take shape over the past month and a half has been nothing
short of incredible. Officially recognized as a party on April 6, 2006,
the Green Party had exploded out of the gate and has very quickly become
a strong voice for political change."

Wright believes the party's ability to attract candidates flows from the
core beliefs of its members and supporters, "The Green Party's values of
fiscal responsibility, socially progressive policy, environmental
sustainability and participatory democracy."

The precise deadline for candidates to file their documents with
Elections Nova Scotia is 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30.
