Request for Submissions   of Community Gardening/Greening Research Summaries  For Publication in ACGA Community Greening Review and online ACGA Research Database
   
  The American Community Gardening Association (ACGA) requests submissions of summaries of research on community gardening or community greening for inclusion in an upcoming issue of the Community Greening Review (CGR) with the theme “Community Garden Research” to be published October 2006.  Submissions will also be included in ACGA research database, to be published later in 2006 at www.communitygarden.org. 
   
  Submission Criteria:
  Submissions should be of scholarly quality research either completed or substantially completed in the last 5 years.  Research may come from any academic discipline, which may include Urban Horticulture and/or agriculture, Urban Planning, Public Health, Education, etc., use innovative methodologies, and represent diverse geographic regions.
   
  How to Submit:
  Please include author(s), institution/organization, short title, descriptive title, a synopsis of methodology and key results in your 400- to 500-word research summary.  Please include the URL if a synopsis or full paper is currently available on the web.  Also include primary research contact information including mailing address, phone, fax and e-mail address.  Submission deadline is June 15, 2006. E-mails are preferred and can be sent to betsyjohnson at communitygarden.org.  Mailed submissions can be sent to ACGA c/o Franklin Park Conservatory, 1777 East Broad St., Columbus, OH 43203.  Phone inquiries to (877) ASK-ACGA.
   
  Peer Review:
  A panel of members of the ACGA Research Committee will review submissions for inclusion in the CGR. Not all submissions can be published because of space limitations, though most will be included on the ACGA website research database. Research authors must give ACGA permission to reprint their summaries in the CGR and on the website. A small number of researchers will be invited to contribute a longer (approximately 1500 word) research article.
   
  The Community Greening Review: 
  ACGA's annual publication, the CGR features topics of interest to both the community gardening world and the academic, professional, and non-governmental and governmental worlds. As one of the key benefits of membership in ACGA, the CGR is an integral part of the education of and outreach to all those interested in growing the community garden movement.
