[Sust-mar] Microcredit Events in Nova Scotia

November 12-15, 2006 delegates from over 100 countries are gathering in
Halifax for the 2006 Global Microcredit Summit. The Atlantic Council for
International Cooperation (ACIC) is taking this opportunity to raise
awareness about the impact that microcredit is having both here in
Atlantic Canada and around the world. "Both Sides of the Coin –
Microcredit in Atlantic Canada and Abroad", is a series of public events
that seeks to outline how microcredit deals with alleviating poverty
locally and globally.

Please join us at one of the following events:

1) Microcredit Meet & Greet - Sunday November 12th – 7:00PM
St. David’s Church, 1537 Brunswick St., Halifax, NS

Meet Microcredit Summit delegates from around the world in a casual
setting. Refreshments will be provided!

Speakers include:
Ben Simmes, Director of Membership and Investments, Oikocredit, The
Netherlands
Wiliber Ibarra Perez, Microcredit borrower and Sales Manager, Jambi Kiwa,
Ecuador

2) Open Discussion - Thursday November 16th - 7:30PM
19 Pelham St., Lunenburg Library, Lunenburg, NS

Come hear from a local entrepreneur about her experience with microcredit
and from a microfinance institution in Ghana that provides loans to rural
women!
