[Sust-mar] facilitation and leaderships methods program

Appropriate, effective dialogue and group processes are required, as communities grapple with how to collectively identify, understand and address the challenges of today. Tatamagouche Centre is offering a program for facilitators and community leaders, to improve effectiveness at working with groups and achieving outcomes.

Methods in Dialogue and Facilitation, September 18-20 (Tuesday 7pm to Thursday 1pm) will be led by 2 skilled and seasoned educators from the Maritimes. John Ure organizes professional development programs and resource, works with civic youth engagement, youth inclusion, organizational development, community dialogue and collaborative learning/action initiatives for change, with Heartwood (www.heartwood.ns.ca). Wayne Edgar is the Executive Director at Tatamagouche Centre, and has worked in community development, community health, and education throughout the Maritimes. At this program, participants will explore the appropriate applications of different methodologies to best animate group processes, and engage others. Open Space Technology, Appreciative Inquiry, Asset Mapping, World Cafe, small group discussion and exercises will be explored, through an innovative practice of different dialogue techniques, to determine how they relate to the fundamentals of effective group process.
