EARTH WEEK IN FREDERICTON

Fredericton - The first Earth Day was held in April 1970 with over 20
million people participating. Since then governments around the world
have reacted to public pressure for environmental action and have
formed departments dedicated to environmental protection. However,
over the years, pollution and the plundering of natural and
non-renewable resources has still happened. Legislation that is
supposed to protect the environment has weakened. It is time to
reverse this trend. Taking part in Earth Day has never been so
important.

The Fredericton chapter of the Conservation Council of New Brunswick
encourages all to join one or more of the exciting Earth Week events
happening in Fredericton next week.

* Laugh at the Newfoundland humour of Greg Malone and enjoy music by
Vetch while supporting the Conservation Council

* Collect bottles in your neighbourhood while educating the public
about waste

* Partake in street theatre or a critical mass bike parade *
