Rally to Save the Department of Environment

Fredericton - This Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22, join the
Conservation Council outside the Legislative Assembly for a very
special fundraising rally. The Department of Environment had its
budget gouged by more than 10% at a time when New Brunswickers are
looking for action on the enviroment. Bring your pennies, piggy banks
and beverage containerrs to be exchanged for money -- every bit
counts. If we raise more than the $2 million cut from Environment
Department's budget we will donate the extra to J.D. Irving Ltd. to
help them out with their power bills. Mr. Irving is looking for $150
from every New Brunswick household to cushion the blow of power rate
increases, so please be as generous as you can. We can do it, if we
pull together. It's up to us!

When: 12 noon, Tuesday, April 22

Where: Legislature, Fredericton

What: Rally, street theatre and speeches.
