Powerful Voices for Change! Womens Rights in South Africa and NS
Thursday, March 6th
7-8:30pm
Room 224, Dalhousie Student Union Building, 6136 University Ave.
As part of International Womens Week, Oxfam Canada presents Powerful Voices
for Change!, featuring Glenise Levendal, a strong womens rights advocate
from South Africa.
Glenise will be joined by local womens rights activists. These passionate
women will share their stories about struggle and inspiration in effecting
change in the lives of women. The stories will be followed by round table
discussions- a chance for you to have a voice and get involved!
Glenise Levendal is the Program Officer for Oxfam Canada in South Africa.
Glenise has worked in the areas of domestic violence and rape, labour law,
local government, and social security- always with a gender lens. Her
masters research focused on the experiences and perceptions of men who have
undergone gender training.
