Tatamagouche Centre
"Although I've been working in conflict situations for many years now, I found new understandings in this training. DPC gives me a framework in which I can operate more strategically. This training brought me a lot of new inspiration."
Participant of DPC training in Canada, 2007
"For me as a family worker, it was very important to find out what the crucial turning point is in a mediative process"
Participant of DPC training in Northern Ireland, 2006
"DPC should be trained to all my staff members. It creates a new culture in the organization. Staff will be able to manage amongst themselves much better instead of automatically turning to the superior for a solution"
Participant of DPC training in Canada, 2007
If you are looking for ways to deal with conflicts in your organization, community, amongst individuals or between organizations, this program will provide you with practical skills in order to address conflicts and support processes to work for sustainable solutions.
Dialogue for Peaceful Change (DPC) is a methodology to learn the creative and practical skills of peaceful change. DPC is part of a global coalition dedicated to creating safe spaces to overcome division, through a structured process of mutual empowerment. Based on work in Northern Ireland, this methodology is applicable to local conflicts, large and small, in communities, families, and organizations. It has been implemented in global conflicts in Palestine, with child soldiers in Uganda, and amongst squatters in the Philippines.
DPC moves beyond traditional meditative methods focusing on conflict, content, culture and spirituality. Through engaging in a formal mediation process in an experiential setting you will gain the skills necessary to engage in formal mediation work or establish conditions to prevent conflicts from erupting in the first place and to mitigate conflicts through meditative practices. For more information on DPC, visit www.dialogueforpeacefulchange.org
