An event that Sustainable Maritimes readers may like to know about:

IT'S TIME: AFRICAN WOMEN JOIN HANDS AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is a one-hour
documentary screening and panel discussion about the work of the Ethiopian
Women's Association and the South African National Prosecuting Authority.

Thursday, June 5, 7:00 pm
Weldon Law Building, Rm 105
Dalhousie University
Admission: Free

The event is presented by the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia and the
Law Courts Education Society of BC, which has been working with the EWA in
Ethiopia and and the NPA in South Africa. The screening will be followed by a
panel discussion with South African prosecutor Tsidi Kambula and Mahdere
Paulos, EWA's Executive Director.

This is an opportunity to hear on-the-ground perspectives of two powerful
African women leaders who are doing critical justice work with women and
children in Ethiopia and South Africa. As a former judge and practicing lawyer,
they invite all Halifax community members who resist domestic violence to
participate in the discussion.
