CPAWS Nova Scotia Seeks Board Members

The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) is Canada's pre-eminent, national
community-based voice for public wilderness protection. Since 1963 CPAWS has
taken a lead role in establishing two-thirds of Canada's protected wild spaces - an area over
seven times the size of Nova Scotia.

The CPAWS Nova
Scotia Chapter works to keep Nova Scotia wild. CPAWS-NS helped to conserve over
600,000 hectares of Nova Scotia's most treasured wild places in parks
and other protected areas, as well as remarkable areas of the ocean, including
The Gully and deep-sea coral reefs.

CPAWS-NS is
currently seeking interest from individuals willing to fill one of several
volunteer Director positions available. The CPAWS-NS Board of Directors meets
approximately six times a year and corresponds regularly by email. Board
members are expected to actively contribute to the management of the
organization through committee work (i.e. Human Resources, Financial
Management, Fundraising, Policy). CPAWS-NS has two full time staff members and
one part time financial administrator.

Currently, the
CPAWS-NS Board is seeking individuals with experience in one or more of the
following:

·
Experience
as a board of director for not for profit organizations

·
Experience

·

in Nova
Scotia. For more information on the recent success of CPAWS-NS, see
