Position Title: Managing Director, Human Resource and Administration

Location: Halifax Regional Municipality

development and delivery of creative and dynamic programs and initiatives with an emphasis on education
and collaboration. We are an effective, high profile environmental leader. Staff ranges from 30 – 70
employees depending on active programs.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Managing Director will be responsible for staff and office management,
including:
• Talent recruitment and development
• Performance management
• Policy development and implementation
• Providing guidance and direction to staff throughout the development and delivery of each program
and ensuring staff meet project deliverables
• Assuring compliance with all statutes and regulations related to employment standards and law
• Organization of office operations and layout
• Coordinating technical and facility support

Required Skills:
You take a collaborative and creative approach to relationships and problem solving, and you have strong
human resources and managerial skills including:
• Relevant post-secondary education
• Minimum of 5 years experience in delivering managerial advice and services
• Strong leadership abilities
• Exceptional coaching skills
• Influencing and negotiation skills
• Expertise in current and relevant legislation
• Strong organizational and project management skills

Salary Range: $40,000 to $45,000
