Please circulate. Apologies for cross-postings.

The Sierra Leone-Canada Youth Peace Movement in Nova Scotia and Ontario
invites you to attend a fundraiser in support of the work of cdpeace (Centre
for Development and peace education) in Sierra Leone (www.cdpeace.org).

Friday, September 25, 2009
Lord Nelson Hotel, 1516 South park St.
7 - 10 pm
Tickets: $30 ($20 for students)

The event will feature food, a cash bar, a silent auction, a raffle, and a
presentation about cdpeace's work. Our guest speaker will be Logan
MacGillivray, founder of "Listen to the Children", and there will be a dance
performance by Ceecee Fied and the Maritime Centre for African Dance.

The money raised will contribute to the building of a Community Resource
Centre at Mayagba, a rural community in the Northern Province of Sierra
Leone. Sierra Leone is one of the world's most underdeveloped countries, and
is still recovering from a horrific 11-year civil war, which ended in 2002.
The Community Resource Centre will provide a place for learning, training,
and youth development in Mayagba and the surrounding areas.

If you would like to make a donation to the cause, please contact us
(902-405-0177 or email eventcdpeace at gmail.com).
. If you buy 100 bricks = ($100.00), your name will be inscribed at the
entrance of the Resource Centre
. If you buy 1,000 bricks = ($1,000.00), your name will be inscribed on a
Peace Pole to be erected at the green space of the Peace Education Centre
. If you donate $5,000, a room at the centre will be named after you
. If you donate $10,000 and above, a building will be named after you
