Position Title: Pace Car Officer Internship position with Active & Safe
Routes to School

Duration: 6 months

Position description:

A program of the Ecology Action Centre's Transportation Issues
Committee, Active & Safe Routes to School (ASRTS) encourages active,
non-motorized forms of transportation to school, such as walking and
cycling. Pace Car is a safety initiative of ASRTS. The overall goal of
the Pace Car program is to positively affect driver behaviour toward
other road users (especially active transportation users) and to reduce
speeding in communities. The ultimate goal is to promote the use of more
active transportation as a sustainable transportation choice for
families, children and youth. Pace Car is a partnership of Active & Safe
Routes to School, Canada's home, car and business insurers and Nova
Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. The role
of the Pace Car Officer is to help promote the program, coordinate it
with communities and perform general administration.
