Take Me Outside Week - September 20 - 26, 2010

 

Take Me Outside Week is a new project coordinated by Recreation Nova Scotia
to support a growing "back to nature" movement as we invite more children
and youth out into the great outdoors.

 

While still in the initial stages of planning, we wanted to let our various
partners and stakeholders know about Take Me Outside Week as early as
possible. More information will come over the next six weeks or so.
Organizations or families and small informal groups can get involved. Both
will be able register online and pledge to participate in Take Me Outside
Week. More details are found at

Organizations may register events they organize and families and small
groups may register their plans to take a child or children outside. We hope
to have online registration available in early August. However, we encourage
organizations to plan their events ahead of time and let us know by emailing
wonder at senseofwonderee.ca. 

 

Recreation Nova Scotia is coordinating Take Me Outside Week in partnership
with Sense of Wonder Environmental Education and the Sharing Nature
Foundation. Funding partners include the IWK Community Grants, the Nova
Scotia Department of Health Promotion and Protection and Mountain Equipment
Co-op.
