________________________________

The 21inc Emerging Leaders Summit is a unique and inspiring leadership
experience for promising young leaders and entrepreneurs, age 20 to 35,
who are committed to shaping Atlantic Canada's

future. Through a pan-Atlantic nomination process, top candidates will
have an opportunity to network with peers and be celebrated for their
professional accomplishments. 50 extraordinary young people who are
selected will attend the Emerging Leaders Summit in St. Andrews, NB,
November 22-24.

The Summit experience is designed to provide the 50 young people with
assistance moving from "leading self" to "leading others." They join
with their peers and some of the region's most

respected leaders to further their skills and know-how to help propel
their career, enhance their leadership abilities, and build our
organizations and communities for the 21st Century.

Where does it come from?

The Emerging Leaders Summit seeks to address an urgent need premised on
three converging trends:

1. Atlantic Canada's aging population means young people will need to
assume positions of

leadership.

2. Rapid growth in technology and developing countries means fostering
innovative and resilient

companies and organizations.

3. Young people are leaving the region but many would prefer to stay,
develop their talent, and

be part of something bigger.

Primary Outcomes

* Young leaders who are more skilled, entrepreneurial,
connected, and motivated to grow

* businesses and organizations, creating a more resilient
Atlantic Canada.

* Mentorship relationships created for young people across the
region.

* A dynamic and connected Atlantic network of emerging young
entrepreneurial leaders

* The formation of an innovative, strategic, and skills
development opportunity for and by

* young people, not found in Canada.

* High media visibility and social media content creation.

* A stimulating forum where senior leaders engage with the
region's leaders of tomorrow

The Program

Nominations

The online nomination process open May 31st across Atlantic Canada.
Emerging Leaders, age 20 -35, are nominated by employers, mentors,
colleagues, supervisors, etc. The ideal nominee is

from business, politics and government, civil society, academia, or the
arts. They have impressive accomplishments, community involvement,
and/or exhibit potential to be a leader of tomorrow.

Selection Process

A short list is first evaluated at the provincial level, with the final
50 selected by a panel with regional representation. 21inc judges have
previously included John Wallace, Canadian Senator; Nancy Mathis,
Executive Director of the Wallace McCain Institute for Business
Leadership; and Christian Couturier, Director General NRC, IIT.

Roundtables and Receptions

All nominees are invited to participate in roundtables to explore
solutions to their professional challenges, values, and their vision for
the region. Roundtables will occur in cities across the

region in collaboration with our corporate and public sector partners.
Receptions follow roundtables to recognize, and support the nominees in
their efforts to build networks with local decision makers.

Emerging Leaders Summit

The Summit is an intense leadership experience focused on developing
skills and knowledge to lead people, teams, and organizations in the
21st Century. The time spent building relationships

with peers and program mentors is one of the most inspiring and
motivating experiences. Participants are in part selected based on a
project they identify, and work on the skills and knowhow

to bring their project to fruition. Skills in the following five
categories will be furthered:

* Motivation - How to motivate self and others

* Relationships - How to build and lead teams

* Strategy - How to get from here to there

* Structure - Who does what to get there

* Outcomes - What does success look like

21inc Ideas Festival

All participants stay for the 21inc Ideas Festival, a partnership
between 21inc, Public Policy Forum, and leading private sector companies
like Stewart McKelvey. It is where Atlantic Canada's

emerging leaders gather with their peers and some of the region's
established business, government and nonprofit leaders to equip
themselves with ideas and networks to transcend some of our most
intractable challenges.
