This International Development Week, ACIC wants to recognize youth
leaders who promote global social justice and environmental
sustainability in their everyday lives. Do you know someone between the
ages of 15-30 who is making a difference as an active leader for a
better world?

**Nominate them --or yourself -- to become a part of our Active-8 Team!***
*Nominees must meet **all** of the following criteria:

    * are 15 - 30 years of age.
    * have played an active role in promoting global citizenship.
    * currently reside in Atlantic Canada and be available for limited
travel for video production on January 22nd. Travel subsidies
      will be provided.
    * agree to be profiled through online videos and profiles, and in
the media and as part of a local and national campaign
    * able to participate in International Development Week activities
and events in the region, as ambassadors of the Active-8 campaign
      <http://www.active8campaign.com/>.
    * will actively inspire others to make on-line commitments to act
for change during the month of February, 2011.

Eight Youth Ambassadors from throughout the Atlantic region will be
selected to be part of the *'Active-8'* Team who will lead the campaign
by inviting individuals and groups to create an on-line pledge to take
action during International Development Week. Each Youth Ambassador
will compile a team of other youth who will compete to win a prize for
the most pledges obtained. The eight individuals and their efforts to
build a better future will be profiled nationally with other youth
leaders from across Canada.

As a member of the Atlantic Active-8 Team, their commitment and efforts
to build a better future will be recognized through multi-media profiles
on our IDW website, representation at municipal proclamation ceremonies,
and interviews with local media. More importantly, as we showcase their
leadership, these eight Atlantic youth will also inspire the commitment
of their peers and others to take action. This year's IDW campaign
challenges all of us to commit to actions for positive change for the
world this International Development Week, and beyond. AND The Active-8
leader who collects the most on-line commitments will be awarded a prize
of $1000! Last year's winner, Jill MacPherson, contributed the funds to
the organization she volunteers with as well as towards relief efforts
in Haiti.

How can you help? Nominate a youth leader active in global issues, from
your area. They must be between15-30 and live in the Atlantic Region. To
