Position: Turtle Technician

Help us help sea turtles

The Canadian Sea Turtle Network is looking for a full-time Turtle Technician. The Technician will be responsible for logistics associated with field research, as well as for all associated data entry and management. The technician will also coordinate response to sea turtle strandings and entanglements; help coordinate the efforts of local volunteers; and participate in educational outreach initiatives with the general public and members of the commercial fishing industry.

The ideal candidate has:

• A university degree in a related discipline
• Strong interpersonal skills
• A demonstrated interest in the environment
• Experience coordinating field research
• Experience designing and/or managing databases
• Experience designing and/or delivering educational programs
• Proficiency in GIS applications
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software
• A valid driver's license

Candidates must be comfortable working on marine vessels and must be willing to work sometimes unpredictable hours.
