Going Green and Having Fun at ACAP CB's March Break Eco-Day Camp
Sydney, NS - St. Patrick's Day isn't the only green event taking place this
March Break. ACAP Cape Breton is hosting an eco-day camp jam-packed with
eco-activities, crafts and experiments. Each day is themed with interesting
ways to make going green fun!
Children are becoming more aware of environmental issues and the eco
day-camp aims to make these issues kid-friendly, relatable to day-to-day
life and entertaining. Each day has eco-activities, recycled material
crafts, experiments, funky videos and a healthy snack. From Monday to
Friday, the theme days will be: Wonderful World of Water, Radical Recycling,
Our Natural Resources, Climate Change Challenge and Beautiful Biodiversity.
The eco-day camp is open to elementary school aged children. The camp runs
Monday, March 12th to Friday, March 16th from 9 am until 12 noon at ACAP's
Centre at 582 George Street in Sydney. Each camp costs $10 per day or $45
per week for one child, with family discounts available. At the end of the
week, each child who participates in our eco-challenges will receive an
Eco-Kid certificate. Spaces are limited, so please register by phoning
567-1628.
The Atlantic Coastal Action Program (ACAP) Cape Breton is a non-profit,
charitable community organization. Located at 582 George Street in Sydney,
this dynamic group integrates environmental, social and economic factors
into projects focusing on action, education and ecosystem planning.
