We are looking for a dynamic individual to assist with the coordination of EOS EcoEnergy’s Tantramar sustainable transportation project, with an initiative around climate change adaptation, and to help with Cape Jourimain’s provincial Solar Hot Water Campaign. This position is based out of EOS in Sackville.
About EOS:
EOS Eco-Energy has a vision of the Tantramar Region of Southeastern New Brunswick as a model for energy conservation, renewable energy, and sustainable community planning. Through these approaches it will be possible for Tantramar to become self sufficient in electricity generation, reduce our reliance on dwindling fossil fuels, meet the challenges of climate change and create vibrant healthy communities.
Cape Jourimain Nature Centre
Cape Jourimain Nature Centre is the provincial coordinator of the Renewable Energy Hub, in coordination with the Conservation Council of NB, the Falls Brook Centre, and the Miramichi River Environmental Assessment Committee. We provide New Brunswickers with information about small to medium-scale case studies of renewable energy technologies. We are now in phase one of the Solar Hot Water Campaign, an educational promotional campaign about the benefits of solar hot water and heat water recovery systems.
Duties:
·Assist with the coordination of Transportation for Tantramar: develop a business plan for an integrated transportation model, promotion of the program, survey participants to measure CO2 emissions.
·Assist with a solar energy campaign with Renewables NB (build relationships with installers and suppliers).
·Develop promotional materials about the campaign
·Work closely with the Executive Director to ensure project deliverables are met and perform various administrative duties.
Experience required:
· Experience coordinating projects, working in a collaborative environment.
· Project Management experience is an asset
· Knowledge of and interest in transportation systems
· Interest in renewable energy systems
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Fluency in English and French is an asset
· University graduate preferred.
· Experience with Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office.
· Must have valid driver’s license.
Duration:
This is a five-month contract to March 31st, 2013.
Salary: $13 to $15 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)
