As the longest standing example of forest sustainability in Canada, Windhorse Farm is a 170 year-old model of earth stewardship, hosting businesses in forestry, wood products, organic agriculture, education programs and rural retreats. Windhorse has made a strong commitment to the standards of forest sustainability and holds the two highest sustainability certifications in the world through the Acadian Forest Families and the Forest Stewardship Council(r). Windhorse Farm is growing its Wood Shop business and to assist in this growth they are looking to add a Wood Shop Manager to the team.

With the majority of the products Windhorse Farm produces being tone wood for musical instruments, custom & heritage flooring, and speciality lumber you will be responsible for managing incoming orders, sourcing material from local suppliers, managing inventory, scheduling production, and coordinating delivery. As a hands on manager, you will lead processing and final grading, and take responsibility for the quality of the product going out the door. You'll work to build strong relationships with your customers and communicate timelines or issues as they arise. You will also be responsible to promote product offerings to the marketplace developing new business opportunities that will drive growth.

You bring to the table your experience as a woodworker coupled with a demonstrated ability to manage staff and build relationships with customers and suppliers. It's your self motivation that leads you to develop new customer relationships and your entrepreneurial spirit drives you to build new business opportunities. When faced with a challenge you are solutions oriented and you have the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
