**DSU Sustainability Office - Green Week **Commissioner**DEADLINE TO APPLY
IS Friday August 9th, 2013 4:00pm*
DSUSO is pleased to host the 5th annual Green Week taking place Monday
September 23rd - Friday September 27th 2013. The largest event of its kind
in Halifax, the purpose of Green Week is to provide opportunities for
Dalhousie students and community members to become engaged with a variety
of environmental and social issues.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
Self-directed, ability to work independently, & collaboratively with
university partners
Experience in organizing volunteers, workshops and other events is
preferable
Excellent teamwork, ability to work cooperatively with others, and
contribute ideas
Environmental Studies/Sustainability background is preferable
Involvement and knowledge of the Dalhousie Student Union an asset
Must be a Dalhousie student during the 2013/2014 school year

*DESCRIPTION:*
Expected to work ~10hrs/week for planning of events, with increased hours
during Green Week
Work with DSU Sustainability staff to develop and promote Green Week events
Recruit and manage volunteers for Green Week events
Attend most Green Week events
Meet weekly with the Executive Officer and Student Outreach & Initiatives
Officer to assess progress.
This is an honorarium position from August 21st - September 30th

Conduct public awareness campaigns concerning sustainability issues
Responsible for the promotion of DSUSO to students through available means
of advertising
Create and coordinate, in conjunction with other students, all events and
relevant happenings (e.g. Green week)
Meet weekly with the DSUSO Executive Officer to assess progress
This is an honorarium position with flexible hours, starting in mid-August
2013 (start date is flexible) and ending no later than April 30, 2014
