The Bridgewater and Area Community Sustainability Network* is pleased to
co-sponsor an information session Monday February 25th at the Best Western
at Exit 12 about the FarmWorks Community Economic Development Investment
Fund (FarmWorks CEDIF). FarmWorks Directors will explain how to invest and
describe the benefits of investing in farms and food production in Nova
Scotia. Last year, FarmWorks raised $223,500 and that money is supporting
nine outstanding Nova Scotian food-related businesses. The Directors have
received applications from many more farmers and food producers, so, they
would like to raise $250,000 this year through the sale of more shares to
people interested in supporting Nova Scotian agricultural and food
enterprises. http://farmworks.ca/home/

All those interested in supporting the growth of a local food economy are
encouraged to attend. You will meet some of the people FarmWorks is
supporting and hear about the Provincial tax credits for investors. There
will be time for discussion. Coffee and local snacks will be served. Event
details may be found on the FarmWorks website or contact Linda Best:
lbest at ns.sympatico.ca

Following the FarmWorks session, there will be a THINKFARM information
session at 6:00pm organized by the NS Department of Agriculture.
