Position: Nova Scotia Business Energy Solutions Representative

BES Representative - Contract (35 hours per week)
June 3rd - August 30th, 2013
Rate of Pay: $17/hr + monthly mileage stipend
Locations: Yarmouth County (1 position) and Colchester/Cumberland Counties (1 position), Nova Scotia

Summerhill is dedicated to developing, implementing and managing public engagement and market transformation programs that lead to measurable improvements in energy savings.

We are currently seeking outgoing, energetic and dynamic individuals to join our team, as Business Energy Solutions Representatives for work in the commercial energy sector in select regions of Nova Scotia.

Representatives will be responsible for:
• Conducting lighting and energy use audits in businesses
• Installing various energy efficient products including compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), LED exit lights, LED bulbs and tank wraps
• On site sales of ductless mini split heat pumps and other energy efficient products

Representatives will work independently in a designated geographical area. Employees will receive a competitive salary that will include base pay and performance/commission based pay. Full paid training will be provided prior to the start date. Representatives will also receive a mileage stipend to cover cost for travel during work hours.

Training & event Schedule

In-person Training: June 3 - 7, 2013
Training Location: Summerhill Halifax Office - 1819 Granville St., Suite 501, Halifax NS
Program Dates: June 3 - August 30, 2013 (with option for contract extension)
Hours: Depending on demand, approximately 35 hours per week with potential for up to 48

Responsibilities:
• Visit commercial buildings within designated area to perform energy audits, direct installs of free energy-saving products and sales of discounted energy efficient units such as heat pumps
• Data collection/energy evaluation for installations
• Complete reports accurately and enter online daily
• Commit to fulfilling fluctuating work demands

Qualifications/Job Requirements:
• Physically fit and able to remain active for the duration of all shifts
• Have a friendly and professional manner and appearance; comfortable with entering businesses in a 'sales' role.
• Be comfortable with the installation of various products such as compact fluorescent light bulbs
(full training provided)
• Sales experience and comfortable doing sales presentations in a one on one setting
• Possess a background in environment, or have a strong interest in energy conservation
• Outgoing and positive personality
• Detail-oriented, punctual, conscientious, reliable and able to work independently
• Access to a computer with the Internet and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) to complete daily staffing and event documents
• Mobile phone
• Valid NS Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle to use for the duration of the program
• Steel Toed Boots
