Fracking review papers - public input

The Hydraulic Fracking Review Panel is in the process releasing it’s draft chapters. As fracking and unconventional gas development could have significant impacts on the lives of many Nova Scotian’s if it is permitted, NOFRAC encourages you and your organization to read and respond to these papers.

Last week, chapters on Water Issues and Well-bore Integrity were released. The deadline for responding to these papers is June 20. 

This week, two more paper, one on environmental impacts and one on social and community impacts are scheduled to be released. Deadline for public response is approximately two weeks after release. A paper on health will be released the following week. 

Public meetings will be coming up in July, which will also provide an opportunity for the public to let the panel (and political decision makers) know what you think about this issue.
