*Backyard Forestry*, June 24-26: Join professional forester and author 
Jamie Simpson (“Restoring the Acadian Forest” and “Journeys Through 
Eastern Old-Growth Forests”) for a weekend of practical introduction to 
forests and forestry. Hands-on exploration covers which trees grow 
where, and why, how to identify our trees and common forest plants, and 
how to think about working with your own forest. Some classroom time and 
a lot of time in woods surrounding the Harrison Lewis Centre. Fee: $325 
(or $295 when paid in full upon registering). Deposit of $100 to hold 
place, or pay in full for discount. Covers tuition, home-cooked meals, 
and cabin bunk. (Discount $75 if attending from home or off-site
