 REGISTRATION CLOSES MAY 18TH!

 NATURE NOVA SCOTIA/YNC ANNUAL NATURE WEEKENDCome join us for a weekend of family friendly naturalists workshops andfield trips! Nature Nova Scotia 26th Annual AGMand Young Naturalists Nature WeekendDate:  Friday, May 27 to Sunday, May 29Location:  KC Irving Centre, Acadia University, Wolfville, NovaScotiaTheme:  Biodiversity and the AnthropoceneWe will have a Friday evening Wine & Cheese reception (youth welcome)in the beautiful Garden Room of the beautiful KC Irving Centre and enjoymorning workshops on Saturday and Sunday. Youth workshops will include an investigation of insects and bees, exploration of the mudflats, learning about raptors and owls and a tour of the Acadian Forest at the Irving Botanical Gardens. Families can then participate in a varietyof field trips each afternoon and join in on early morning bird walks andevening star gazing.

 There will be dorms available on Acadia’s campus and there are also severallocal hotels and B&Bs in the area. Food will have buffet-style,all-you-can-eat breakfasts and lunches will be served at Wheelock Dining Hallon the Acadia Campus (meal only packages will be available) but  onSaturday evening our banquet dinner will be part of the May Flavours Dinner and Auction atAcadia  that features local foods (hors d’oeuvres to desserts) prepared bychefs from various local restaurants, along with Valley wines and beer (couponfor one alcoholic drink included; bar service available).  There is asilent auction throughout the dinner, and also a live auction at the end of themeal. NOTE: Nature Nova Scotia has offered a $50 bursary for youth ages 8-12(to cover meal package) for families getting an Accommodation/Meal Package atAcadia University (see registration form for information on the package)
 If you are interested in attending please contact Robin (yncns at yahoo.ca or902-455-5643) before you send in your registration form to apply for a bursary. Only 20 youth are accepted into the programso register soon. Programming is geared to 8-12 year olds.
