There are only 5 public engagement meetings on the Halifax Green Network Plan left, and one is TONIGHT at 6:00p.m. in BEDFORD! See below for the remaining dates and locations.

Why is it important? The GNP has collected substantial landscape data and has mapped the most ecologically-significant corridors and areas (you can find that map HERE<http://ourhrmalliance.ca/uncategorized/our-asks-for-the-upcoming-hgnp-consultation/>). Now HRM wants to know how they should implement this data. What is EAC advocating for? We'd like to see:

- Recommendations to update the Community Plans and Land Use By-laws (zoning) to comply with the new data

- Recommendations to amend the Growth Centres designated in the Regional Plan, to direct growth away from the most important natural areas and corridors

- Recommendation to adopt the Plan into the Regional Plan to give it

Creating The Green Network is an opportunity we don't want to miss out on! Come and make your voice heard! Need more information? VISIT WWW.OURHRMALLIANCE.CA<http://WWW.OURHRMALLIANCE.CA>

Notice from HRM:

The Halifax Regional Municipality is conducting the third and final phase of public engagement for the Halifax Green Network Plan, a decision-making framework for the conservation of a region-wide network of open space. A number of planning and implementation directions have been drafted using public input and study results from the earlier phases of work and are contained in the newly released Halifax Green Network Plan Primer Report. More information on the Halifax Green Network Plan is available online at www.halifax.ca/HalifaxGreenNetwork<http://www.halifax.ca/HalifaxGreenNetwork>.
