Position: Adventure Coordinator
Organization: Trips By Transit
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Details:
Hours per week: 8-12
Wage: 12.70-15 an hour
Term: 4 months, beginning mid-September, with potential for extending the contract (with negotiable hours and wage)
Role:
The Trips By Transit Adventure Coordinator will support the volunteers, trip leading, and social media outreach with Trips By Transit. The Adventure Coordinator will work with the board to support ongoing initiatives and community collaboration. The Adventure Coordinator will also aid in the support and supervision of other TBT employees in a collaborative fashion.
Key Duties may include:
Coordinate public and private adventure programming (every 1-2 weeks)
Work with volunteers and trip leaders - communicating, checking-in, and facilitating planning parties and get-togethers
Help plan and carry-out partnerships and collaborations
Alongside Finance & Development director, manage social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
Work alongside the board of directors to ensure programming is meeting the organizations mission and mandate
Attend and contribute to board meetings every 2-4 weeks
Structure:
The adventure Coordinator will work alongside the Finance & Development director planning the day-to-day operations of the organization. They will be coordinating programming for our 3 trip leaders and various volunteers. The adventure coordinator will also be in communications and be working in conjunction with our board of directors.
Relevant Skills & Experience:
Preferred experience working in a non-profit
Working with/managing volunteers
Personal time management skills/ experience working an informal work environment
