Request for Applications: DSUSO Green Gala Commissioner

The Green Gala Commissioner is responsible for coordinating DSUSO’s annual Green Gala. The green gala is an annual event celebrating individual and collective achievements in sustainability-related areas. With the support of the DSUSO Steering Committee and Volunteers, the commissioner will need to begin work immediately in preparation for the April event.

Responsibilities include: 
• Booking a venue and coordinating refreshments
• Coordinating nomination process and sending invitations
• Marketing event to the student body
• Arranging IT and security services for the event
• Overseeing set-up and take-down of event

Qualified applicants should: 
• be a member of the Dalhousie Student Union?
• have proven experience with event management
• be able to work independently and while coordinating a team
• have experience working within a confined budget

Position Summary: 
• the successful applicant should be prepared to begin work immediately and the position will continue until the end of the Winter Semester
• the position reports to the DSUSO Internal and External Directors
• The commissioner is expected to submit a final report after the event
• this position will be paid an honorarium of $500
