REPORTS TO: Executive Director

DURATION: 3 month contract

TYPE: Part-time contract

LOCATION: Work can be conducted remotely, or out of an A\J bureau office at Trent University.

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

A\J is poised to relaunch alternativesjournal.ca, and you will have the opportunity to help us promote the new site, and its new initiatives. In this role you will be leading the non-editorial efforts to develop A\J’s digital presence and traction, including the running of all social media channels and digital ad campaigns, and the development of mutually beneficial digital partnerships with like-minded organizations. You will have a proven ability to independently manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop following on and manage all social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
• Promote relaunch of the A\J website
• Identify and negotiate cross-posting relationships with key partners and stakeholders
• Develop & manage Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads, and Google Ads campaigns

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required
• Social media best practices
• Direct experience running social media channels and digital ad campaigns

Desirable
• Solid understanding of environmental issues
• Connections within the eNGO community
• Experience with Buffer

COMPENSATION:

$4,000 for the full contract.
