About the Loaded Ladle:

The Loaded Ladle is a non-profit open food cooperative of students and community members based out of the Dalhousie Students’ Union Building. We are dedicated to providing accessible, sustainable and locally sourced food by providing free meals on campus and by supporting off-campus events and groups who share our mandate for social and environmental justice. We aim to address injustices within the global food market, particularly in how it affects university campuses and marginalized communities under capitalism. We offer a local alternative to corporate food models, encouraging creative resistance and engaging in food justice knowledge and resource sharing.

Employment Equity: The Loaded Ladle recognizes that with regards to peoples’ experiences and job qualifications, a ‘level playing field’ does not currently exist because of the structural injustices of our society. The Loaded Ladle sees employment equity as a necessary practice to challenge some of these injustices by recruiting people from historically disadvantaged groups and prioritizing those applications. If you would like to be considered under the Employment Equity Policy, please state so in your cover letter.
