Position: Volunteer Coordinator
Organization: Loaded Ladle
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Volunteer & Serving Coordinator
• Oversee regular Loaded Ladle meal servings 4 times per week for 200+ people
• ensure Food Safe standards are met at all times during servings
• set up and clean serving space after servings are completed
• collaborate with kitchen coordinator to ensure servings run smoothly
• Volunteer coordination for prep parties, cooking, serving, cleaning, and material making
• Schedule volunteers for shifts, outreach to new volunteers, welcome new people to the space with tours and orientations, and organize volunteer appreciation parties

Compensation: $18.75 per hour for 32 hours per week

Start date: Late August 2019 (negotiable) End date: August 31, 2019 with option for renewal

About the Loaded Ladle:

The Loaded Ladle is a non-profit open food cooperative of students and community members based out of the Dalhousie Students’ Union Building. We are dedicated to providing accessible, sustainable and locally sourced food by providing free meals on campus and by supporting off-campus events and groups who share our mandate for social and environmental justice. We aim to address injustices within the global food market, particularly in how it affects university campuses and marginalized communities under capitalism. We offer a local alternative to corporate food models, encouraging creative resistance and engaging in food justice knowledge and resource sharing.
