About Trips By Transit
Trips By Transit (TBT) is a not-for-profit organization that works to remove the barriers that prevent individuals from connecting with their communities, themselves, and the natural world. We do this primarily through leading accessible trips to local nature and wilderness spaces via public transit. We lead both community trips which are open to everyone and cost-free, and partnered trips that we run specifically for other community organizations. At TBT we believe spending time in nature has huge benefitsto ones health, sense of wellbeing, involvement and interaction with ones community, environmental stewardship, and much more. We also believe that nature should be accessed in the most respectful way possible, which is why we lead programming solely using public and active transit. Our adventures function as a way for participants to form personal connections in their community, learn more about local issues surrounding the environment, and learn how to access nature in a more
sustainable way. TBT currently has two Chaptersthe primary Halifax Chapter, and a Chapter in Kingston, Ontario.
