Position: Project Coordinator
Organization: Canadian Council on Invasive Species
Location: Fredericton NB (flexible)

Duration: until March 31, 2020 with possibility for extension
Hours: Full time (37.5 per week)
Wage: $20.00 - $23.00/hour
Start date: August 6 or sooner

About us
The Canadian Council on Invasive Species (CCIS) is a non-profit multi-agency organization that works collaboratively to support actions and share information that can help reduce the threat and impacts of invasive species. The New Brunswick Invasive Species Council (NBISC) is a collaborative initiative involving a number of agencies formed to enhance coordination and collaboration on addressing invasive species within the province of New Brunswick. This position will implement a collaborative initiative between CCIS and NBISC.

Job Description & Responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in education and outreach strategies to motivate New Brunswickers to change their behavior and take action against invasive species. The full time project coordinator will implement a program to protect our freshwater ecosystems, economy and way of life.
• Planning and delivery of outreach events, workshops and activities that provide practical actions to prevent the spread of invasive species.
• Building capacity with partner organizations on implementing behaviour change programs.
• Build web and social media presence and increase awareness on invasive species.
• Facilitating collaboration and coordination on invasive species related matters across the province
• Tracking and reporting project activities.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in leadership position
• Field of study related to biology, communication, or education.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
• Bilingual, with oral and written fluency in French.
• Curious, self motivated, and capable of building lasting relationships
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Able to work occasional weekends and week day evenings.
• Valid Driver’s Licence
