ABOUT YOU
You have an interest energy efficiency and are knowledge about building energy efficiency policy. Being very organized and having strong priority setting skills will allow you to effectively help plan and support events, webinars, meetings and committees related to energy efficiency. As a strong communicator and collaborator, you are eager to assist with facilitation, stakeholder consultation and public education activities. As required by the funding for this position, you are a Canadian citizen and age 30-year-old or younger.
YOUR FOCUS
As the Energy Efficiency Officer, you will focus on conducting research, gathering data and aanalyzing government policies and regulations related to efficiency. You will assist with the delivery of energy efficiency programs, government relations and strategic, policy-focused energy efficiency initiatives within Atlantic Canada. You will work closely with the Communications Teams for guidance as needed in order to research and write internal/external communications including web content, social media posts and magazine update and develop campaign materials and graphics for online and print use.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
At least 1-2 years of experience conducting research, reviewing literature and writing reports
Knowledgeable about buildings and energy efficiency policy
Strong communications skills, both oral and written
Proven ability to analyze government policies and gather data
An awareness of the importance of environmental campaigns
Experience assisting with event planning and coordinating activities
Practical experience in facilitation, stakeholder consultation and public education
Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively allocate your time to complete important productive tasks
Contribute to a collaborative team environment
Project administration skills to assist funder reporting, grant proposals and report writing
Willingness to participate in and support the overall work of the Ecology Action Centre, including but not limited to community queries, engagement organizing, and promoting our overall impact
Experience working on energy efficiency programs and policy, with indigenous communities, governments on policy matters and with non-profit organization is considered an asset
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Start date: January 2022
37.5 hours/week starting at $18.75 per hour based on experience
1-year contract with the possibility of extension based on funding
Cost-shared benefits plan, paid health days and 4 weeks paid vacation per year
Work can be completed in our office space or done remotely with periodic work in our office space. During the COVID pandemic employees will work from home/remotely.
The position requires occasional evening and weekend work and involves limited travel.
