Position: Neighbourhood Goods Store Clerk
Cooperative: Halifax Brewery Farmers' Market Cooperative
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Term: 18h/week, Part-time, Casual

The Halifax Brewery Farmers' Market is a non-profit, member-run cooperative, established in 2010.

Hosting a year-round weekly farmers market in the historic Alexander Keith building in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia our organization boasts over 55 weekly local food and drink vendors, helping create and sustain important links between rural and urban communities. Through our weekly market and operation of the Neighbourhood Goods General Store, we strive to increase equitable access to good quality, local food & goods, encourage community building, and strengthen the local economy.

The Neighbourhood Goods General Store was established in 2020 as an entity of the Halifax Brewery Farmers' Market. The purpose of the Neighbourhood Goods General store is to support our local farmers and other market vendors and to increase the accessibility of locally grown, quality food and goods.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, and responsible individual to help us run our store! Reporting directly to the Neighbourhood Goods Store Manager, the Neighbourhood Goods Store Clerk will help us maintain smooth operations of the store by providing excellent customer service and accurate and efficient sales transactions. Knowledge and Skills: 
• Interest in local food and farmers’ markets
• Previous retail experience
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Highly self-motivated
• Overall positive attitude
• Ability to connect with customers and vendors

Duties and responsibilities
• Help set up and tear down the store each day
• Early mornings on Saturdays are a must!
• Store food properly to maintain quality
• Provide excellent customer service
• Help maintain accurate inventory
• Restock shelves
• Regular cleaning of the store
• Assist store manager with various tasks as needed
