*Big feedlot salmon farming is back on the menu in Nova Scotia. *

While the federal government puts an end to sea-cage salmon aquaculture in
BC, Nova Scotia is the newest industry frontier for this out-of-date,
pollutive business model. Provincial leaders are prepared to enable a
fourfold expansion in salmon farming operations, with industry players
looking to increase production from 20 million to 80 million pounds of
farmed fish annually.

Coastal communities are forced to fight back to protect their local
waters. Now, as several Nova Scotia feedlot proposals await government
approval, investigative journalists and award-winning authors Doug Frantz
and Catherine Collins have released the newest and most damaging salmon
farming exposé yet – this time with a distinct Atlantic flavour. Their
book is titled *Salmon Wars: The Dark Underbelly of our Favourite Fish. *

Join the authors and co-hosts South Shore Chapter of the Council of
Canadians and the Twin Bays Coalition on *September 21 at 7pm at the* *Mahone
Bay Centre, 45 School Street, Mahone Bay*, for the book launch and
presentations with local and provincial perspectives, as we call on our
government to put a stop to expansion once and for all.

Copies of *Salmon Wars* will be available for purchase through LaHave River
Books.

This event is one of a series throughout Nova Scotia. For other dates and
