Leading arts organization seeks creative
COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Community Arts Ontario (CAO) is a non-profit, multi disciplinary arts
network on the move. Representing a diversified membership of over 120
community and arts organizations across the province, our growing
organization invites applications for the part-time position of
Communications Coordinator.

Key activities include:
Coordinating all communications efforts to members,  media and public and
preparing regular e-mail bulletins, fax broadcasts and media releases.
Serving as editor for ArtsON newsletter. Coordinating content development,
publishing, distribution and advertising
Coordinate a new project Entering into Print Dialogue that promotes critical
writing about community arts activities and projects for several established
arts and culture publications including ArtsON
Distributing bimonthly updates of NewsFlash, our e-bulletin to members
Coordinating materials for editing and posting on the artsONline website
Implementing  Phase 1 of CAO’s marketing strategy

Candidates must have experience in editing and publishing and an academic
background in fine arts, marketing and media/communications studies.
Superior oral/written communications skills are essential.  Experience with
word processing and database management programs such as MS Word,
WordPerfect, MS Access and knowledge of HTML formats plus PageMaker,
Publisher, Quark or Adobe graphics software. This position requires flexible
work hours and the ability to work in a team environment. An appreciation of
the arts is a definite asset.

This contract position includes 16 hours a week at $17 per hour.
