COACHING MATTERS

Production opens at the JANE MALLET THEATRE, St. Lawrence Centre,
Toronto September 23, 2002

Rehearsals begin mid-August, 2002

COACHING MATTERS, based on the real-life experiences of the author,
follows the coaches of an NHL team through the seven games of the
Stanley Cup Finals.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR MEN:  Although the hockey world is predominantly
peopled by white, anglo-saxon men (and their gallic counterparts) we
welcome all submissions regardless of race, creed, colour, etc.

COLIN:  30s, statistician on sabbatical from his university teaching
job.
MIKE:  50s, Head Coach, former player, big guy.
JACK:  40s/50s Assistant Coach, former player, big jerk.
SMITTY: 30s/40s, Assistant Coach, on his way up.
J.P.    30s/40s Chief Scout, must have a convincing Quebecois accent, a
stud.
FRANK  40s/50s NHL official, a worker in the NHL.  May play other roles.
HARRY  60s, Color Commentator on National Network. Retired Head Coach
Swing/Understudy TBA

Please prepare two contemporary monologues (at least one comic) You will
be asked to do a cold reading from selected sides.
