 JOB: FINANCE OFFICER, SASKATOON

The Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company is currently hiring for the
following position:

FINANCE OFFICER
Post Date: July 29, 2003 
Deadline for applications: August 11, 2003
Location: Saskatoon, SK

Assignment: Full Time  - 12 month contract with possibility of renewal
Pay Rate: Negotiable upon education, training and work experience 

Start Date: Immediate



REQUIREMENTS
-----------------------------------
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the general accounting of
the organization including; accounts receivable/payable and payroll.
Other duties include managing employee benefits, box office, merchandise
and concession sales accounting.

The Finance Officer will support the General Manager in the development,
monitoring and reporting of organizational and project budgets.

Candidates must be bondable and be able to work in a team setting with
minimal supervision. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal
communication skills. A valid Saskatchewan Drivers License and personal
vehicle would be an asset.

The Finance Officer reports to the General Manager.  Candidate must have
a combination of work experience and degree, diploma or certificate in
accounting.  The ideal candidate will have an extensive working
knowledge and skills utilizing the following;

*** Simply Accounting 9.0
*** MS Windows
*** Excel and MS Word

Experiences working within the Aboriginal community, with youth
orientated projects and cultural/arts organizations are definite assets.

The Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company (SNTC) is a non-profit
cultural/arts organization based in Saskatoon and was founded with the
philosophical understanding that the art of theatre and cultural
understandings are intertwined. By nurturing and developing our skills
and knowledge we can enhance our cultural identity and strengthen the
spirit of our communities.

Since January 1999, SNTC has been successful in providing opportunities
for Aboriginal youth to gain skills and knowledge that support them in
their future personal, social, career and cultural development. SNTC
provides outreach programming throughout Saskatchewan and produces
community and professional theatre that is presented in Saskatoon and
tours extensively throughout Saskatchewan, Canada and beyond.

SNTC is an innovative and progressive company striving to make
respectful and meaningful cultural/arts programming accessible to the
Saskatchewan Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities.
