Write From The Hip 
Call For Submissions

Nightwood Theatre's 5th annual novice playwriting initiative, Write From
The Hip is now accepting submissions.  Interested applicants should be
18-29 year-old women looking for an artistic challenge, an opportunity
to develop and write a play, a chance to have their say and or a place
to express their unique and diverse voice. Previous theatre experience
is not necessary.  

Nightwood Theatre welcomes women from various backgrounds and embraces
cultural, racial and sexual diversity.  Women from all walks of life are
encouraged to apply.

Write From The Hip runs from March to August 2004.  

Successful applicants will participate in a series of weekly hands-on
workshops in writing skills and techniques, seminars in professional
play development, guest artist lectures and field trips.  Each
participant will collectively or individually create a short piece that
will be workshopped, dramaturged and presented as a staged reading on
the final night of groundswell, Nightwood Theatre's annual play
development program.

Positions are limited. Interested applicants should submit 3 to 4 pages
MAX of something they've written (not necessarily for the theatre).  The
applicant's name, phone number and address should only appear on a
separate one page cover letter that expresses why they want to be a part
of Write From The Hip.
