Additional information:
"Forbidden Phoenix" is a stylized world. A fusion of Chinese opera and
western musical theatre allows the performers to create the landscape
mostly with words, gestures and props.

Actors are asked to prepare one up tempo and one contemporary ballad; an
accompanist will be on hand.  Looking for strong singer/ actor/ movers
with training in martial arts an asset for both Equity and Non-Equity
roles.

Roles:
Phoenix: Soprano, 25 -35 years.  Grace and compassion soften her sharp
edge of fierce protectiveness. She wants to protect nature from the
greedy ambitions of Horne.

Bailing: A schemer.  Strong singer/dancer and must have martial arts
training.

Sichen: Another schemer. Strong singer/dancer and must have martial arts
training.

Three Soldiers/Guards: Acrobatic fighters will double the chorus roles
and play the segments of the Iron Dragon.  Strong singer/dancer and must
have martial arts training.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
