[CANUFNET] Thomson - Phragmites & OIPC

The Great Lakes Phragmites Collaborative http://greatlakesphragmites.net/
has an excellent website with a number of resources. Also, last year, OIPC
created a compendium of invasive plant management in the Province to
facilitate collaboration and resource sharing when completing invasive
species control, it lists the other organizations who completed our survey
and are controlling specific species. It is available here:

f and has a list of organizations who are controlling Phragmites. 

 

Finally, there is an Ontario Phragmites Working Group which has been meeting
every few months. OIPC sits on this committee and I can provide contact
information if you would like to attend the meetings or get in touch with
them for best practices. Also, I highly recommend the Ontario Ministry of
Natural Resources Phragmites BMP document, available here:

Hi Hayley. We have a large phragmites project that we'll begin to tackle
(Thomson property) over the next 3 years. I was on your website last week &
reviewed what's there. If you have anything you cold share, even experts,
I'd appreciate. The local conservation authority is involved, not sure if
the OIPC would be interested.
