Hydro tree removals are the responsibility of NB power in moncton NB, it may be different in other jurisdictions. We work closely with them in prioritizing areas on a rotation basis to keep crisis at a minimum but this is hard with limited resources and budgets although this year another 1.5 million has been put into tree removal due to affects of hurricane Arthur this fall hitting Fredericton NB (our capital) especially hard.

Hello,
We are interested to find out what process other municipalities follow regarding stumping and hydro tree removals. If the hydro utility in your city is responsible for removing trees from under wires (when they cannot be successfully trimmed), does your municipal urban forestry department foot the bill for stump grinding or does the utility complete the entire job at their own cost? Thanks.
