[CANUFNET] Elms and Bradford Pear

Bradford Pear (with possible comparisons to Accolade, Liberty and Valley Forge, elm cultivars)
has what the nurseries like:  a tree that sells. They are popular here on the West Coast. The tree has a great shape, grows fast and flowers profusely in the spring. It’s not too fussy about the soil it goes into. With its weak structure, it often doesn’t last long, although I believe that proper pruning can extend its usable lifespan. Like many of our landscape assets, they become a disposable product ... unfortunately. I hope that the elms do not follow the same path.
