I would like to post the announcement below (English and French) for an upcoming Canadian Institute of Forestry/Institut forestier du Canada e-lecture series coordinated by the Société internationale d’arboriculture Québec taking place during the month of March 2018 on CANUFNET.

Good day,

The Canadian Institute of Forestry/Institut forestier du Canada invites you to participate in a webinar series coordinated by the Société internationale d’arboriculture Québec entitled, “Nouvelles approches et outils dans les forêts urbaines du Québec”. This series of e-lectures will be delivered in French and held on the following Wednesdays: March 14, 21, and 28, 2018 at 1:30pm Eastern Daylight Time / 10:30am Pacific Daylight Time. For more information and a description of the webinar, please see the attached poster.

The webinar will be delivered through the Adobe®Connect™ web conferencing software. To participate, you will need a computer with stable internet access. Newer version of the webinar platform may prompt you to download a new add-in. Please consult the instructions below for information on how to connect for the live e-lecture.

If you do not have access to the internet, please email us so we can send you a copy of the presentation slides to follow along.

How to Join

10 minutes prior to the e-lecture start time:

Option 1:

Web-only login: connecting through the Internet (recommended)

·       >Select “Enter as a GUEST”, type your full name and then click “Enter Room”

·       Ensure to click the “listen in” button that appears to the bottom right of the message box

·       This option works best with a stable Internet connection

·       Ensure that your computer speakers and sound are enabled to tune-in to the e-lecture

·       The discussion and Q & A session will be held at the end of the lecture, please direct any questions or comments using the chat pod on the screen. The moderator will bring up your questions to the presenters 

Option 2:

Phone + web login: (preferred option if you have a poor Internet connection)

·       Continue to follow Web-only login steps above

Comment suivre la conférence

10 minutes avant le début de la conférence électronique :

Connexion seulement par la Toile : connexion par Internet (recommandée)

·       Sélectionnez l’option « Enter as a Guest », inscrivez votre nom au complet et cliquez sur « Enter Room »

·       Assurez-vous de cliquer sur le bouton « Listen only » qui apparaît dans le coin inférieur droit de la boîte de dialogue

·       Cette option fonctionne plus adéquatement avec une connexion stable à Internet

·       Assurez-vous que les haut-parleurs de votre ordinateur sont en mesure de syntoniser la conférence électronique

·       La période de discussion et de questions/réponses aura lieu à la fin de la conférence et vous êtes invités à poser vos questions ou à transmettre vos commentaires au moyen de la boîte de dialogue. Le modérateur transmettra les interventions aux conférenciers.

Option 2:

Téléphone et connexion à Internet : (option recommandée dans le cas d’une connexion internet instable)

·       Suivez les étapes de connexion mentionnées sous l’option 1
