[CANUFNET] Amending soil for tree planting

We mix the topsoil with the soil that has  been dug out
maybe half-and-half or so
and put slits with a shovel all around the inside so roots can find their way out
Especially in clay soils

it’s really called a BOWL not a hole for us because most kids want to dig too deep
 so we have them call in a bowl and fit the plant is been taken out of the pot in the hole and make sure the bowl three pot widths
 And one deep before they get approval from us To finish planting
Also We have them put a shovel handle across the bowl to gauge that the root collar is even the soil underneath the grass just so it’s not too deep
I think the problem of Roots  strangling themselves is that when taking the plant out of the pot sometimes the roots are in circles inside the pot and they need to be straightened out before planting.
