Hiya Grace!
This is a hot topic in the Montreal Area. Has been for a while....here are a few references :
* City of Laval instituted a subsidy programme for its citizens and institutional partners https://www.laval.ca/Pages/En/Business/demineralisation-greening-private-institutional-properties.aspx
* City of Montréal has been working on programs for the last 3 years http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/portal/page?_pageid=5798,42657625&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&id=29418
* SOVERDI is a great reference as well for private greening projects and partnerships https://soverdi.org/accueil/
* Another project in communities south of Montreal http://crem.qc.ca/fr/2019/09/sous-les-paves-ecole-lionel-groulx/
Good luck with the rest of your research.
All the best,
Meagan

Subject: [CANUFNET] tearing up pavement or concrete to plant trees?
Does anyone know of cities or communities that have torn up pavement or concrete, in order to plant more trees where they are needed?
I'd appreciate any links to articles or information.
Thanks,
Grace
