[CANUFNET] tearing up pavement or concrete to plant trees?

Thanks, Rob, that's great to hear! I would love more information. Was there
any newspaper coverage of this?
I am an urban forest activist, so I'm not that knowledgeable about
techniques. I'm curious whether cells or 'tree coffins' would have been
used in this instance, or were they planted in bare earth?
Someone at the Friends of the Urban Forest in San Francisco told me most of
their trees are planted by tearing up concrete, and I want to ask them this
question too.
It is good to hear that this is happening!
Thanks,
Grace
